Talk about Apartheid today and most people immediately form a mental model of those evil Boers/Afrikaners, racist scum, etc oppressing the angelic noble savages of South Africa and the English being the liberals during the time of Apartheid protecting and caring about the poor little souls.
Shows you the power of propaganda doesn’t it?...Shows you how you can bend the truth 180 degrees in the opposite direction.
If you have followed my series of Opening Pandora’s Apartheid Box, then you would have noticed that in South Africa it never was about Apartheid. It was about the British and American interests in our mineral riches. Most notably our gold, platinum and diamonds.
Anglo American companies like Lonrho (London Rhodesian Company, now Lonmin) of Cecil John Rhodes, De Beers, Consolidated Goldfields (now Hanson), etc and their subsidiaries were all owned by either British or American companies or both. The Boers never owned a single one of these mines.
In order to plunder and rape the riches of South Africa the Anglo Americans needed lots of cheap labour that they found in the form of black South Africans that they lured to their mines in their millions.
These workers flooded to the cities and had to live in atrocious conditions, sometimes in mining hostels and eventually it gave rise to massive townships like Soweto. Apartheid was mainly a result of trying to regulate this labour.
It was all fine until the blacks were agitated by Marxist agents and got uppity about certain laws and regulations and attempted a revolt against the NP government during the 1960’s.
That was when the Anglo-American mining bosses started fearing that the blacks might win and over-run the whites and ultimately, the mines and all the riches would be lost and probably fall into the hands of the communists.
So they adopted a liberal strategy, thinking they could win the hearts and minds of the African labourers. The mining bosses openly started to advocate the abolishment of Apartheid, criticizing the Nationalist government in their liberal media (that they also owned) and started to back the Communist enemies of South Africa.
The strategy was one of appeasement. Feeding the crocodiles in the hope that you will be the last to be devoured.
As long as the NP could hold the blacks in check it was all fine, but by the mid 1980’s it was clear that the black numbers were increasing exponentially and that the NP was starting to lose the propaganda battle and being isolated more and more worldwide. According to the mining bosses the writing was on the wall for the NP.
Michael Young, the public affairs director of Consolidated Goldfields organized secret meetings with the ANC and the NP/Liberal academic establishment at their mansion in England. I documented it in detail in Opening Pandora’s Apartheid Box.
The deal was to bring the ANC, the figurehead of the blacks in SA, to power so the blacks could be fooled with an illusion that they are “free”, “liberated” and in control of the country. The job of the ANC bosses would be to calm the monster down. For that they would be richly rewarded and share in the spoils and feast of the mining companies.
The mining bosses believed that the ANC wasn’t truly Marxists. That with a bit of palm greasing they could be won over to the capitalist side…
People like Patrice Motsepe, Cyril Ramaphosa, Tokyo Sexwale and even Nelson Mandela became billionaires overnight. Their job was and still is to uphold the illusion that black South Africans are in charge of the country and sharing in the wealth, when the reality is that only a handful of the ANC elite are sharing in the wealth and the rest of the blacks are getting poorer and still working for a pittance in the same Anglo American mines.
Lately the Communists have noticed the game of the mining bosses and they are not having any of it. They want the mines and all the riches for themselves. So now they are threatening with “nationalization” of the mines. Taking it by force. Recently we have seen violent incidents at Implats in Rustenburg and Lonmin’s Marikana mine in North West.
At Marikana, ten people died already in the violence
This is what the mining bosses always feared would happen if Apartheid carried on and why it had to be abolished. They feared a repeat of the massive strikes and violence of 1973 at Carletonville and Western Deep Levels mines. No the repeat is happening under the ANC.
The strategy of appeasement and deception that the mining bosses played until now worked for a while until the blacks started realizing that they have been had all along by the Anglo American mining establishment.
Truth is that blacks are NOT in control of South Africa. The mining bosses are. And that is how it will always be.
The counter attack from the mining bosses has already started in their propaganda campaigns in their newspapers. Daily we see ANC corruption case after corruption case being revealed. Reports of untold amounts of theft, unprecedented misrule, waste and incompetence are the order of the day. Government department like education ruined beyond repair, etc…
All true of course, but where were these reports five years ago? The media was quiet on it. The ANC could do no wrong. It is as if the MSM has recently received a go-ahead to reveal all the scandals of the ANC.
It is just a game in the end, I suppose. The mining bosses are playing Monopoly and the Marxists are playing chess. Who cares if 4000 farmers have been murdered since 1994 and 25 people hi-jacked every day in Gauteng? They are just pawns in the game over the riches of South Africa. The game is only just getting interesting and rough.
Sad thing is that after these people have had their fun and tried to beat each other…the pieces all go back in the box, until the next time.
It will be interesting to see what the next strategy of the Anglo American mining bosses will be now that their idiotic ideas of appeasement have failed. Will they try to buy the Marxist brotherhood and the union leaders off?
Fact is that they are starting to realize that back then during the Apartheid years they betted on the wrong horse. They got in bed with the Devil the day they decided to support a Marxist Terrorist organization against the white South Africans.
How it looks to me is that they are trying to oust the ANC Communists first through bribery and secondly by winning black support through liberalism coming from the DA.
I can tell them now that it won’t work. In the law of revolution, whenever moderates come up against extremists, the extremists always win. In order to win you have to be more extreme than the extremists. The DA just doesn’t have what it takes. The ANC will use all the dirty tricks in the book and all the violence they are so infamous for to beat the DA into submission. They have already started with that in the Cape.
I cannot tell the mining bosses what they should do, but eventually they are going to start running out of options as they lose mine after mine. Many of their mines have already closed due to lack of productivity, strikes and corruption.
The question is if they will ever acknowledge their mistake and start backing the whites to drive out the ANC again. Eventually that will be their only option left, but I think they already know that.
