Die insident by Stellenbosch is nie geïsoleerd nie en kom steeds wyd verspreid in Suid Afrika voor. Hoe hard daar ookal gepoog word om dit te onderdruk en voor te gee dat dit sal weggaan deur allerhande strafmaatreëls wat gewoonlik eensydig toegepas word, voorspel die AVP dat dit nooit sal weggaan nie omdat dit ‘n wetmatigheid is wat nie deur die mens daargestel is nie.

Die DA se Maimane het dit onlangs weer bevestig met sy stelling dat: “If you don’t see me as balck, you don’t see me at all!”  As ras nie ‘n faktor was nie, waarom dan die blanke leier van die DA vervang om meer swart steun te trek?  Hierdie soort liberale onsinnigheid grens aan kranksinnigheid wat meer probleme sal veroorsaak as wat dit kan oplos!

UNIVERSITY FIRES ‘WIT BOER’ SMS LECTURER

Cape Town - The Stellenbosch University lecturer, who found himself at the receiving end of a racism complaint from a black student, has been fired after he admitted that he sent the student a text message which read: “Jou swart moer van die wit boer” (You black bastard from the white farmer).

However, the nuclear physics lecturer, Dr Anton Stander, would like to be given an opportunity to “apologise to him unconditionally”.

University spokesman Martin Viljoen on Friday confirmed that Stander’s contract had been terminated - more than three weeks after he sent the text message to student activist Sikhulekile Duma.

“Dr Stander requested the university to facilitate a private, mediated meeting with Mr Khule Duma as he would like to apologise to him unconditionally,” Viljoen said.

“The university welcomes Dr Stander’s request and will take appropriate steps to mediate between him and Mr Duma,” Viljoen added.

He described the comments as repugnant and said the university would act decisively in each case, irrespective of its origin.

Duma, a sociology student and member of transformation activist group Open Stellenbosch, received the SMS on April 25.
