MALEMA STEEDS DIE IMPERIALISTE SE BESTE OPSIE OM DIE ZULUS SE GREEP TE VERSWAK

altMALEMA: “Zuma took your money and built a cattle kraal when you don’t have a house.

ANC national chairperson Baleka Mbete has said “the issue of a man’s kraal or a kraal of a family is a holy space” with reference to Nkandla. I think ...  She has a point  She’s abusing African tradition to justify the unjustifiable

It may be a holy space but that doesn’t mean taxpayers have to pay for it

Just a day after President Jacob Zuma promised to slaughter cows to celebrate the ANC’s election victory, Julius Malema did the same at an EFF mini-rally in the same province.

SABC radio news reported yesterday that Zuma had made his promise during a visit to the Peter Mokaba region in Limpopo. Zuma wrapped up his two-day campaign tour of the province yesterday.

Malema arrived in his home province of Limpopo for a series of mini-rallies today. He addressed a gathering in Phahameng Township in Modimolle where he continued to slam Zuma over the Nkandla debacle.

Malema repeated many of the things he had already said at rallies – including criticising the amount of money spent on Zuma’s cattle kraal and querying the need for a swimming pool at Nkandla.

“Zuma took your money and built a cattle kraal when you don’t have a house. Your children go to bed on an empty stomach and walk around without shoes while Zuma’s cattle are in a R1 million kraal,” he said.

“You’re wearing a yellow T-shirt out there while Zuma’s cattle live a better life than you. People who wear T-shirts with Zuma’s face must be ashamed. Better wear a T-shirt with ANC on it. At least the ANC has some history.”

He then turned to the swimming pool. “Just tell me what a 72-year-old man is doing with a swimming pool. Imagine Zuma and his wives in swimming costumes? Zuma really [took] money for things he did not need. He does not need a swimming pool.”

Malema urged people to vote wisely. “When you go vote, say to those who chose animals over people, we can’t trust them. We thought we could trust Cyril Ramaphosa but he’s worse than Zuma. If they say you’re worse than Zuma, then you’re really bad because Zuma must be the last bad person,” he said.

“Ramaphosa took R18 million and bought a buffalo but where he comes from in Venda, they don’t have water and toilets, no schools, no clinics and roads are bad but he went and bought an animal.

“We were like you. We were lost but our eyes are now open and we’re not going to be fooled by Zuma for the second time.”

Malema then moved on to the much-debated land expropriation issue, which features dominantly in the EFF’s manifesto. “You don’t have to buy the land, we must give you the land so that you build houses because many people don’t want these RDP [Reconstruction and Development Programme] houses. These RDP houses are not what you fought for,” he said.

“When you marched during apartheid you were saying you don’t want matchbox houses but better houses. They come today and give you houses that are not better than apartheid houses. You are getting less than what you have bargained for.”

Malema said the EFF was only asking for one term to prove itself. “We’re only asking for five years and if we can’t deliver in five years, simply show us the door. We don’t want 20 years,” he said.

“On May 7, you vote for the truth or lies. If you want lies, you will go with black, green and gold but if you want the whole truth, you know the red beret. Just look for the red beret.”
