Behalwe vir die geld sal daar in elk geval geen ander sinvolle bydrae uit so ‘n ooreenkoms voortkom wat ‘n bydrae sal maak tot die toekomstige voortbestaan van so ‘n onderneming wat, behalwe vir die geld en staatskontrakte, homself moet voortsleep met parasitiese aanhangsels wat besluitneming benadeel en korruptiewe potensiaal wat later, indien nie reeds vroeër, die kop sal uitsteek.

CREATION OF 100 BLACK INDUSTRIALISTS GAINING TRACTION
The Department of Trade and Industries Director General Lionel October announced on Thursday this past week that the Department would provide grants and cheap loans to the amount of R1bn as part of the government’s plan to create large and competitive black industrialists.
The funding is expected to attract an estimated R10bn to R20bn from other funders. The government would also look at ways to direct a portion of the R6bn in annual incentives that it gives to compensate to black manufacturers. When the Revised Codes of Good Practice comes into play during May 2015 a level4 B-BBEE score would be required as minimum to qualify for these current existing manufacturing incentives.
President Jacob Zuma who was a keynote speaker at the conference said manufacturing was one of the least transformed sectors of the economy. He said there was low participation of black people in critical economic spheres and reiterated he was not happy that black business directly held only 3% of shares on the JSE. He further said ?we want more factories and means of production to be owned by black people, to show we are achieving economic transformation. This is not racism, but getting rid of racism?
It is clear in terms of the government’s economic strategy that these 100 black industrialist will get the inside recipient lane on government and public entity spending which will run into trillions of rands over the next couple of years on the governments mega projects and entities supplying them. It is expected that five years from now most products on the market will either be manufactured locally, assembled locally or at the very least contain components that are manufactured locally.
