"We are now in charge of our own destiny. Hierdie is ʼn betekenisvolle stelling van Zuma namens alle Swartes in Suid Afrika. Reeds vir twintig jaar is hulle polities in beheer en al waarin hulle slaag is om agteruit te boer. Die voogdyskap wat die Afrikaner nog tot voor 1994 deur die NP vir die Swartes aanvaar het, het hulle nou self opgesê. Teen die tempo waarteen hulle Suid Afrika uitsuig, sal AT Culwick se ontleding weer weldra van toepassing wees.:

Dit is duidelik dat die magte agter Zuma wat sy toesprake skryf en hom met inligting voorsien wat hy dan as feite in sy retoriek gebruik om sy onbesonne uitsprake te maak, nie ‘n snars omgee of Suid Afrika totaal in die grond regeer word ten koste van al sy inwoners nie. Hier is géén sprake van staatsmanskap, kennis, begrip of verantwoordelikheid in sy rede nie.

Soos al sy eweknieë in Afrika vir eeue voor hom, is selfverryking van sy onmiddellike gevolg en minagting vir die wel en weë van sy kiesers sy hoof dryfveer, met die gevolglike anargie en chaos wat daaruit sal voortvloei.

Hoe die 1913 wetgewing, wat deur die Britsgesinde regering van Genl. Louis Botha bepaal het dat 22,5 miljoen akker grond vir die uitsluitlike bewerking en bewoning van swartes opsy gesit word, “a great wrong” genoem kan word, veral met die aanbeveling van die Beaumontkommissie wat in 1916 aanbeveel het dat nog 17 miljoen akker beskikbaar gestel moet word, is onbegryplik. In 1936 is daar deur die SAP –regering wetgewing aanvaar (die Naturelle Trustgrond Wet), dat ʼn trustfonds in die lewe geroep word vir verdere aankoop van grond vir swartes wat as dit afgehandel was, tesame 35 miljoen akker beslaan het. Die 1913 wet het oa. Ook bepaal dat geen Blanke in daardie afgesonderde grond vir Swartes mog koop of huur nie en ook omgekeerd, dat Swartes in geen blanke gebiede grond kon koop of huur nie. Daar was hoofsaaklik drie belangrike redes voor: Die eerste was om die Swart ras teen uitbuiting te beskerm, tweedens om hulle in besit te bring van grond wat tradisioneel deur hulle beset is met die doel om hulle na onafhanklikheid en selfbestuur te lei, en derdens omdat die Blanke besef het dat as hy sy identiteit wou bewaar en sy gebiedsintegriteit wou beskerm, daar territoriale segregasie toegepas sal moet word.

Vandag is dit duidelik dat met die afskaffing van daardie wetsbepalings, Suid Afrika reeds begin lyk soos die pragplase wat reeds aan Swartes toegeken is en in baie kort tyd tot rommelhope geruïneer is.

Dr. Verwoerd het by geleentheid verduidelik dat die verskil tussen Blankes en Swartes is, dat beide grond beset het maar dat die Blankes hulle s’n ontwikkel het terwyl die swartes niks gedoen het nie. Produktiewe, hoogs ontwikkelde plase wat sedert 1994 aan swartes uitgedeel is, mét geld én implemente, het niks van oorgebly nie!

Zuma: Land Act damage must be undone

President Jacob Zuma says the economy is well-balanced and aimed at dealing with the country's specific challenges.

 

Johannesburg - South Africa has not fully reversed the damage done by the Natives Land Act, President Jacob Zuma said on Thursday.

 

"A great wrong was done, and now it is up to us to follow-up by doing a great right," he said in a speech prepared for delivery at a commemoration of the centenary of the 1913 Land Act.

 

"We are now in charge of our own destiny. We have achieved a successful transition to democracy, but we have not yet fully reversed the dreadful pattern of poverty and landlessness - the havoc created by the Natives Land Act," said Zuma.

 

"Correcting the consequences of this act is a critical cog in the wheel of state. It is a crucial component in the National Development Plan."

 

The act dispossessed land from black and "native" South Africans.

 

Zuma said it marked the beginning of the socio-economic challenges the country now faced.

 

"The act was enforced for 78 years until it was repealed in 1991, and during these many years it did enormous damage, so much so that despite 22 intervening years, the legacy of the act stubbornly persists," he said.

 

"We take our hats off to the black people of this country and to the Khoi and the San people, for not allowing the pain of the past to stand in the way of building the present and the future.

 

"The pain of being driven off one's land is worse than anything one can imagine."

 

Zuma said the government admitted that the land redistribution progress had been slow, and that the 2014 redistribution target would not be met.

 

Until now, only 6.7 million hectares of land had been transferred through redistribution and restitution.

 

"We call on all South Africans to commemorate this landmark, with a view to correcting the wrongs of the past and to reinforce reconciliation," Zuma said.

 

"We urge the public to participate in the process of improving land redistribution and reform to reverse the impact of the 1913 act."

 

Solank as wat die Afrikaner bereid is om die onreg wat oor ons voltrek is gelate te aanvaar, só lank sal Suid Afrika agteruit gaan. Eendragtigheid in verset is al grootliks hoorbaar in gesprekke waar jy jou ookal in die land begewe. Wat nog kort is eendragtigheid in beginsel wat die voorvereiste is vir eendragtige optrede. Ons volk gaan nie ten gronde weens ʼn gebrek aan kennis nie, maar weens ʼn gebrek aan geloof en derhalwe aan ootmoediging, bekering en wedergeboorte.
