Dieselfde onderliggende strominge is hier weer duidelik sigbaar.
1. We shall have world government whether or not you like it - by conquest or by consent. lid van die C.F.R. James Warburg, 17 February 1950
2. 1917 Genl. Smuts:, “We have felt more and more that if we are to solve our Native question it is useless to try to govern Black and White in the same system, to subject them to the same institutions of government and legislation . They are different not only in colour but in mind and political capacity and their political institutions should be different.
Disabled whites in for raw deal - union
2012/02/07 10:34:13 PM
Pretoria - South Africa's black economic empowerment process is "racial" and has nothing to do with preventing discrimination, the trade union Solidarity said on Tuesday. Deputy general secretary Dirk Hermann said that proposed changes to the Broad-based Black Economic Empowerment Act (BBBEE Act) would lead the exclusion of disabled whites from any form of empowerment.
"The exclusion of white people from empowerment is turning South Africa's empowerment process into a purely racial process instead of a bona fide anti-discrimination process."
The anticipated amendment to the BBBEE Act comes after a regulation of the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act was adopted in December 2011.
Hermann said: "The state effectively kicked white people with disabilities out of empowerment legislation in December last year."
The deadline for commenting on the proposed amendments to the BBBEE Act was Tuesday (today).
"Solidarity... lobbied for the inclusion of this group in all definitions in legislation regulating empowerment," said Hermann.
He said white people with disabilities were currently included in the definition of the designated group in the Employment Equity Act which regulated affirmative action, but had already been removed from the BBBEE Act's definition of the disabled people group.
The proposed amnedments would result in employers earning no BEE points for employing disabled whites but would get BEE points for employing a well-off black person who was not disabled, Hermann said. (My beklemtoning)
"The exclusion of white people from empowerment is turning South Africa's empowerment process into a purely racial process instead of a bona fide anti-discrimination process."

Johannesburg - Two complaints of racism at Virgin Active gyms in Johannesburg have been dealt with, Virgin Active SA said on Tuesday.
"I have taken personal responsibility to review the facts and whether any further course of action is required," managing director Ross Faragher-Thomas said in a statement.
"I am satisfied that Virgin Active SA dealt with the incident as expeditiously as possible, also recognising the seriousness of the altercation and the priority it deserved,"
On Tuesday, Independent Online reported that Lesley Mofokeng laid a criminal charge after he was insulted at Sunninghill Virgin Active, in northern Johannesburg.
A fellow gym member called Mofokeng a "boy" and accused him of "hogging the equipment".
Mofokeng said: "The guy came and started shouting and said, ‘You black guys take everything. We know this is your #u<king country, but you do not have to control everything."
The Star newspaper reported on Monday that a patron of Virgin Active Morningside, in Sandton, was racially insulted by another patron during a spinning class on December 31.
Liz Hleza said the man appeared enraged because she shouted "yebo" in her enthusiasm for the music and the exercise.
"I was so scared and thought he was going to hit me, he was very angry. He said I should keep quiet and kept saying this bloody ka##ir, you ka##ir," Hleza said.
She said at the time she was dissatisfied with the gym's handling of the matter.
Faragher-Thomas said Virgin Active assigned four staff members to look into the complaints. The general manager was also involved in efforts to resolve the altercations.
The incident at the Morningside gym was being reinvestigated and he had spoken personally to Mofokeng about his experience.
"We always take appropriate action in the event of any member misconduct."
He said members had been suspended in the past for inappropriate conduct, and that the company had a zero tolerance approach to discrimination by its members.
Founder and chief executive of the Virgin group Richard Branson commented on the issue on Virgin Active SA's Facebook page, News24 reported.
"We do not condone any form of discrimination at Virgin - especially racism," he said.
He said Virgin was taking the complaints "extremely seriously".
"[We] intend to look at all the facts to reach the right outcome for all parties concerned," Branson wrote.
Solidariteit sal moet besluit waar hy in hierdie beproewende tyd sy gewig wil laat geld.
